How honest are you? Quite frankly, most of the time, I’m only as honest as I need to be. Call it plausible deniability or a convenient spin. I call it a survival skill. But once in a while, the right person or situation happens and I let my guard down. I’m not who anyone wants me to be, I’m just me. And it’s the best feeling in the world.

So you made a New Year’s Resolution…..congrats. That’s the easy part. MOTIVE isn’t tricky. “I want to lose weight. I want to read more. I want to not commit armed robbery” ACTION is where the rubber meets the road. Where the winners separate themselves from the self indulgent people who post whiny crap on Facebook. And here’s a shocking news flash…..it didn’t have to begin on January 1st. Start now! Just start!

Are you your own champion? If not, why would someone else be? I possibly am some times over confident, but in the long run it has served me well. I leave every job interview thinking I nailed it. If I’m on the ballot for something, you’re darn right I’m voting for myself….can you imagine losing by one vote because you didn’t?!? I’m not saying don’t be humble….that’s for later. But when you know you’ve done the hard work and brought your “A” game, own it.
